GeoSpectrum Technologies (GeoSpectrum) was presented the Innovation Award at the 3rd Annual ACADA Industry Excellence Recognition Awards. This celebrated their success and creation of a family of C-Bass very low frequency (VLF) units of differing sizes and capabilities.

C-Bass is a family of very low frequency (VLF) electrodynamic sound projectors. These powerful projectors are less expensive, lighter, smaller, more efficient, and have a broader bandwidth than their peers. C-Bass makes possible applications that were previously impractical.

The omnidirectional C-Bass can be used individually or in arrays to produce high-power sources with or without directivity.
The family of C-Bass very low frequency (VLF) sound sources represent a significant step forward in the challenging field of VLF sound source technology. GeoSpectrum incorporates recent advances all while using components for volume production at its Dartmouth facility. C-Bass continues to gather international interest and is poised to become an industry standard for VLF active sonar applications.

Paul Yeatman, President of GeoSpectrum, commented: “The C-Bass is truly a game changing development for low frequency sound. The relative efficiency and compactness of GTI’s new sources is already proving its value in supporting environmental science in the arctic and we foresee many further applications to come. It is an honour to have the GTI team be recognized for this innovative product.”
