FFR Free Flooded Rings

GeoSpectrum offers a wide range of FFR transducers and FFR based sources with operating frequencies ranging from 500 Hz to 20 kHz and source levels from 190 to 220 dB re 1 µPa @ 1m. Our finite element analysis and modeling tools and significant build experience enable to us to customize FFR designs to customer specifications. Depending on the application and requirements, Geospectrum can use radially poled and circumferentially poled (segmented) construction methods to produce FFR’s to precisely meet users’ needs with potential savings in cost and weight.

Using FFR technology to produce a standard range of communications transducers with a hemispherical beam pattern, the transducers are ideal for use in a range of underwater communications and acoustic modem applications. As well as producing models tuned to suit popular modem systems, we are able to offer drop-in replacement for transducer models of other companies that may no longer be available on the market.

Description

Free Flooded Ring – FFR – transducers are broadband transducers with unlimited depth capability and a toroidal beam pattern. They are often used as an acoustic source in high-power applications and those requiring full ocean depth.
