GeoSpectrum designs and manufactures the hydrophones listed on this website and continues to design new hydrophones to meet customers requirements. Our starting point for all designs is a finite element model that predicts performance, but the design is only considered complete after it has been subjected to a full range of environmental extremes and operating conditions. Many hydrophones are “aged” in the factory prior to calibration to ensure that the calibration numbers are accurate years later.

The designs range from streamer hydrophones, whose basic design makes them suitable for high-volume production at low cost, to 2- and 3-dimensional particle velocity sensors for mammal detection, air-gun characterization, and down-hole well monitoring.

The groupings below provide some guidance as to what hydrophone to use in which situation, but we are pleased to assist you in which hydrophone to use for your application.
